Our Picotin bag pillows offer the perfect storage solution for your bag when it is not in use. They provide gentle, lasting support to help maintain and, in some cases, even restore the bag’s structure, while preserving its naturally relaxed silhouette.

Picotin bags are unlined, which means they can gradually lose their structure over time. Some might lose it more quickly than others, depending on the leather, and some have already lost their structure when brand new.

Carefully proportioned to accommodate the Picotin’s rectangular base and naturally rounded opening, the pillow supports the bag without making it rigid or altering its characteristic shape.

The pillow's outer fabric is a deluxe Italian linen toile, finished with exquisite signature embroidery. Its pliable construction allows it to be gently compressed for insertion before springing back into its original shape inside the bag, without the unevenness or lumps that can develop with loose stuffing materials.

Picotin pillows are available in sizes 18, 22, and 26.

How the Pillow Fits

A Picotin bag does not have one consistent shape from bottom to top. Its base is rectangular, while its opening is naturally rounded. Viewed from the front and back, the bag narrows toward the opening; viewed from the side, it widens.

The pillow is carefully proportioned to bridge these changing shapes and it is therefore not intended to fit flush against every panel or fill all four corners simultaneously.

A pillow fitted snugly to the rectangular base would push the leather outward and turn the rounded opening into a rectangle, altering the bag’s natural silhouette. Conversely, a pillow shaped to follow the rounded opening would not fit correctly within the differently proportioned rectangular base.

Our design accommodates these two shapes by allowing a small amount of space where needed. This enables the bag to retain its natural transition from a rectangular base to a rounded opening, while the pillow supports its overall structure and helps prevent collapse.

For optimal support, place the bag on a flat surface and rest the handles and lock straps gently over the pillow.

Tested Over Time

We have tested our pillows over many years and found that Picotins can regain or partially regain their structure, including those made from heavier leathers, such as Taurillon Clémence, and those in the larger sizes 22 and 26.

The top-left photograph in the collage featuring the orange Picotin 22 shows the bag in 2014, when it was brand new. It was so soft that it could not stand upright. After being stored with a P22 pillow for several years, it regained enough structure to stand unaided, as shown in the bottom-right photograph of the same collage.

Our own Picotins have now been stored with these pillows for more than six years and have retained their structure beautifully.
